Leagues are back in force on Friday, with plenty of NBA and NHL action to go along with college games. Here's a holiday version of the Daily Sports Roundup.
The Gridiron Spotlight
There are just a couple of ranked college football teams in action on Friday, with No. 9 Boise State the top program in action. The Broncos (11-0 SU, 7-3 ATS) will get a visit from Fresno State (7-4 SU, 2-9 ATS) at 6:00pm ET. Boise State has scored over 40 points in each of their last four games, getting past Nevada 41-34 last time out. The Bulldogs are on a two-game winning streak, picking up consecutive wins over New Mexico State and San Jose State. The oddsmakers prefer unbeaten Boise State in this one, as they're pegged as 21-point favorites.
No. 25 Mississippi will take on Mississippi State on Friday in a 12:30pm game. The Rebels (7-4 SU, 7-3 ATS) climbed into the AP Poll for the first time in five years last week after they knocked off LSU by a final score of 31-13. Mississippi has now won four straight games. The Bulldogs (4-7 SU, 5-5 ATS) edged Arkansas 31-28 last time out. The Rebels are 16-point favorites for this meeting.
As well, there's a Big East matchup between West Virginia and Pittsburgh on Friday, with kickoff set for 12:00pm. The Mountaineers (7-3 SU, 4-5 ATS) were upset by the Panthers in a crucial game last season, and they'll head into this revenge game as winners of six of their past seven contests. The Panthers (7-3 SU, 4-6 ATS) fell 28-21 to ranked Cincinnati last time out; that result ended their two-game winning streak. West Virginia is a 3.5-point favorite Friday afternoon.
Other Friday college football action: Central Michigan (-10) vs. Eastern Michigan, Ohio (-1) vs. Miami (Ohio), UTEP vs. East Carolina (-5.5), Akron vs. Temple (-2.5), Kent State vs. Buffalo (-9), LSU (-4.5) vs. Arkansas, Bowling Green (-2) vs. Toledo, Colorado vs. Nebraska (-18), and finally UCLA vs. Arizona State (-10).
Other Notable Events
After a light Thanksgiving Thursday the NBA has a busier night on Friday, with 11 games on the schedule. Highlighting that slate are an Eastern battle between Philadelphia and Boston, and Western clashes between New Orleans and Portland and Dallas and the Lakers. Also on tap: Atlanta at Toronto, Golden State at Cleveland, Milwaukee at Detroit, Charlotte at Indiana, Minnesota at Oklahoma City, Miami at Phoenix, Memphis at San Antonio, Sacramento at Utah.
The Rest of the Schedule
The NHL has some rare weekday matinees on Friday, with the Islanders at Boston at 12:00pm, Carolina at Philadelphia at 1:00pm, and Tampa Bay at Minnesota at 2:00pm. As well, puck drop for both Colorado at Phoenix and Chicago at Anaheim is 4:00pm. Rounding out the league's slate in the evening: Montreal at Washington, Columbus at Detroit, Pittsburgh at Buffalo, the Rangers at Florida, and Nashville at Atlanta, while the Sharks will play the Stars in Dallas.

Oh, and the Preseason NIT too, which stages its title game between Purdue and Oklahoma.
