Almost every baseball fan has a strong opinion of the Yankees and Red Sox. You either love one of them, hate one of them or hate them both.
You get to use your opinions and maybe profit from them Saturday as we offer up the Baseball PowerStat Challenge. Once again, we have cut the number of games to be picked in half, while keeping the $5 entry and $37.50 payout in place for a tournament of 10 players.
Natually, the Yankee-Red Sox tilt is on the list of eight games. Check the matchup reports and probable pitchers later in the week to see how you plan to pick the PowerStat categories. If you are new to PowerStat Challenge, click here for the rules and how to play section and then get signed up to play against other fantasy baseball gurus.
The other games include the Phillies vs. Braves. If you dig into the baseball database here under the Tools section of the top navigation, you'll see the Phillies are 8-1 this season against Atlanta. Philly is always a smart choice for the HR category, but the other four - hits, stolen bases, pitcher strikeouts and team ERA - depend very much on the pitching matchup. As of Tuesday, it projects as Cole Hamels against lefty Jo Jo Reyes.
Florida visits Chicago in a game that could see Rich Harden in action for the Cubs and John Danks would be slated to fire against hot Justin Verlander when the White Sox visit the Tigers.
Don't forget to get your picks in on the NASCAR PropMaster Challenge, which focuses on the AllState 400 at the Brickyard this week. Qualifying goes early Saturday, so make sure your picks are in for that one early so you don't miss out on points for those questions.
